Social and Charity Forum
We organise corporate volunteering days that give staff the opportunity to support local charities by donating their time to a variety of projects. Previous volunteering days have included working with Thames21 on the Thames Tidal Clean Up, helping to reduce plastic waste and other litter along the Thames foreshore and estuary. We have also volunteered at the Whitechapel Mission through its Clothing Challenge programme. With more than 150 people using the Mission’s shower facilities each day, there is a continuous need for clean clothing. Volunteers help sort, measure, size and hang donated items, ensuring they are ready for distribution to those in need.
We support a Charity of the Year, selected from charities nominated by staff members who have a personal connection to them. All funds raised throughout the year are donated to this chosen charity. Last year, we chose London Hearts, a charity that aims to ensure everyone is always within 200 metres of a defibrillator. This year, we have chosen Winston’s Wish, a UK Childhood Bereavement charity that provides a wide range of practical support and guidance to bereaved children and their families.
Our fundraising activities include bake sales, a hugely popular step challenge and the seasonal Christmas Jumper Day. We also participate in the well-known JPMorgan Corporate Challenge and organise rugby, cricket and dodgeball matches against clients, which are always well attended.
